Jessie, we keep meeting at the same intersection. Like I said before, I agree that direct radiators suck, for all the reasons you cited. But if what you say about horns is strictly and completely true, then does it not follow in spades at ever lower...

Honestly, we're gonna have to start calling you Romy "magnetar" Bessnow if you keep changing your mind like this...*My S2s all seem to measure completely differently, will have to get some more accurate and careful measurements done I think with...

The Jean-Michel Le Cléac'h’s horns or as I call them La-Horns get a lot of popularity among people who are trying to build horns loaded systems. But as anything else in audio the Morons hear any noise and they has no idea how to associate the noi...
I don't think Steve "bought into" the conical propaganda, more that it is easier for him to make conical horns and get a system up and running. So this is by no means finished. We have discussed him trying some different p...

09 is fine for the Montee de Tonnerre; I would certainly give it a try if you can - anything from Raveneau is usually excellent. As for the best Bourgogne Rouge, that's usually akin to asking for the best poet in Belgium, but as it happens I've tried ...

I'm quite busy over the weekend but I can do measurements of the SG-16 tweeter next week. I need to make adapters first but I want to measure the 370 on a Le Cléa'ch Iwata horn and I can compare that to a Yoshimura 3500G driver on the same horn. Ther...

Coops, I less care about the attacks on me, I know that I am a pH-indicator of Moronity among audio freaks. So, if some specific idiots out there are not happy about me then… it is good for me. The higher we climb in mountains the stronger wind and l...

Hm, the Injection channel via Lecleach? The MF via Lecleach? I wonder why people then are complaining about the vertical limitations. Anyhow, closer to the point.

Oh, it'll come round for sure - 4-5 years should do it. As for the Bordeaux vs. Burgundy thing, the thing to take on board is that it's purely to do with producers; a villages wine from a great producer such as the ones I just mentioned will frequent...
We may postulate that … compression is beneficial for soundstaging.
... You are right and it is very simple to witness. A high dynamic range creates less soundstaging and more imaging. Higher compression kills imaging an...

Hi Romy
Yes, I think the toughts behind the Le Cléac'h flare is interesting.
I don't use them myself, however. And I don't use tractrix either.
But I do use a digital crossover.
cheers ;)

The whole room (L-shaped) is larger as you all noticed, but as Roman saw in my Blog , the listening space is smaller - i.e. about 6,5 x 4,5 meters with low 2,70 ceiling - and is a perennial work in progress... yes, the Stereo Lab 1000 hz is a true wa...

Thank You
I'll experiment with the PSU a little. The transformes have only 1 Ohm DCR
and total supply impedance for a channel would be ~ 45 Ohm (with two chokes in series) Imput choke looks like can take 1 A current! All Iron is mil quality and p...

Jessie,
When I spoke that I would go most likely for exponential I did not mean the Exponential vs. Hyperbolic but rather that it would not be a Tractrix. I have no specific preferences for Exponential, Hyperbolic or any other long profiles. A commo...

Yep, thanks.
I still do not know why you feel that I will not exploit the “ringy dustcaps” on the Malaysian bass drivers; in fact I never gave up on this idea. I preliminary concluded that my MF channel might not go lower then 700Hz but I did not sa...

Paul, l I have written about it somewhere: the passive speaker-level crossovers on bass channels are no good. Marko has 250Hz that with 3rd order would be around 10mH and 2mH. With air core then would be very large coils with huge amount of DCR – ver...

Hi Romy,
May i ask if you have ever played with the Le Cleach flares and how you find them?
They were created to reduce reflections directly back into the horn. Only problem is they are very large because of this....
